Packaging machinery pricing and what determines it | Libratus Group

About pricing

Looking for an exact price?

The figures on each machine are real and they are the ranges we build within. What they can't tell you is where your machine sits in that range, because that depends on what you're packing.

A four-head linear weigher for 500g of granola and one for 20 litres of whole bean coffee are different builds — different hopper volume, different feed rates, different gate timing. Change the product to a fine powder and it isn't a weigher at all, it's an auger filler.

What determines the price

  1. Product characteristics

Free-flowing, cohesive, fragile, oily, abrasive or static-prone. This determines the machine class before anything else.

  2. Volume and throughput

Target weight and units per minute set head count, hopper size and drive specification.

  3. Build specification

Contact material and grade depend on the product, contact areas and washdown regime. 304 and 316 stainless are both used across the range; higher-corrosion conditions such as salt, acid or aggressive washdown typically move the build to 316, which costs more. The grade for your build is confirmed during specification.

  4. Format and tooling

Pouch style, film type, zipper, valve, gas flush and coding method each carry their own tooling.

  5. Hazardous area classification

Combustible dusts such as protein powder, flour, sugar, cocoa and milk powder can raise hazardous-area requirements — earthing, antistatic filters and certified components among them. The applicable classification depends on the dust, the installation and the destination market; across our primary markets of Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Malaysia and Indonesia this is assessed against the relevant local requirements, with frameworks such as ATEX or the IECEx scheme applying only where a specific destination or export market calls for them. This is established during specification, changes the price where it applies, and is not optional where the classification demands it.
